At all CoolCar branches, not only do we sort your air conditioning woes but we also take care of the heater side of the system.
The car in the picture is one of our loan cars. All branches have loan cars available, by arrangement, to help keep you mobile, while we fix yours.
One of our loan cars caused us a little embarrassment the other day. Whilst out and about with one of our customers, the heater stopped working. Upon the customers return to one of our branches, they informed us of the issue and we obviously set about on an immediate fix.
We found the heater core had blocked and required a flush out to improve the coolant flow and restore heat to the interior. Once complete, fresh coolant was added and the loan car returned to the fleet.

Here's the latest beauty to grace our premises. This is a 1959 Ford 500 Fairlane. The car owner checked the weather forecast in advance to make a plan of when to drive to us to avoid rain on the paintwork. The vehicle is pretty special to him. The picture below is of a mini, belt driven water pump and thermostat housing from an Audi A3. The customer complaint was that the heater wasn't working. A quick inspection found low coolant level, resulting in reduced coolant flow through the heater, hence no heat. We topped up the coolant and checked it's operation before setting about to find where the coolant leaked from. We found the pump was leaking. A closer inspection showed the pump was damaged but not only that, it had the wrong sized O rings and seals fitted. Someone had clearly tried to make a repair without using the correct parts, as the gaskets and seals can only be purchased with the pump. We gave the customer a quote for a proper repair and set about about getting it fixed.

Just looking for a price on a re-gas?
The AC's not working, so it must be out of gas, right?
Well, no.....not always. If it was out of gas, where's that gas gone?
The 3 pictures below were the classic "I probably just need a top-up". As you can see, we work on all varieties and ages, from modern to classic.
The Valiant was out of gas because it had all leaked out of the compressor, the Hyundai Tuscon had a seized compressor, caused by a faulty evaporator temperature sensor, requiring the dashboard to be removed to replace the sensor and the Nissan has a faulty heater / AC blower motor.
We try and avoid giving prices for repairs, over the phone, as not all faults are so obvious and we don't know what's wrong with your car until we've inspected it.
As you can see with these three, a re-gas wouldn't have fixed any of them. We see many customers who have had a re-gas, elsewhere and still the AC doesn't work or it worked for a couple of weeks. Not only is it money not well spent but you may also be contributing to the climate change by letting your AC system dump harmful greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, something we take very seriously. ... This is Michael with his ‘under $1000’ car that is going to be modified for a 24-hour race at Hampton Downs. We were impressed that he took the time to get the system de-gassed before setting to work. De-gassing is free at our workshops and is a way you can help in the fight against global warming. Synthetic greenhouse refrigerants are potent global-warming substances and keeping them out of the atmosphere is a good idea.
