From leak-checks and fault scans to component replacement, wiring corrections, accessory outfitting, refrigeration diagnostics and complicated repairs; Our technicians work on all manner of vehicles; cars, vans, trucks, tractors, hybrids, EV's, classic vehicles and light commercial vehicles. All of our repairs start with a thorough evaluation of the system or fault, comprehensive diagnosis and quotation, and the quality, quick and reliable repairs.

ABOUT COOLCAR HAMILTON
CoolCar Air-Conditioning, Heating & Electrical North Shore is your local specialist for vehicle air-conditioning, heating and auto electrical repairs. We are experienced in accurate diagnosis and quality repairs, getting to the underlying cause of faults rather than simply treating the symptom. From leak detection and re-gassing to compressors, condensers, electrical faults and heating problems, we offer a comprehensive range of services for cars, vans, SUVs and light commercial vehicles.
CoolCar Hamilton is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Rodney and Catherine, whose connection with the CoolCar name goes back to their teenage years. Rodney began his career at the original CoolCar Newton branch, working alongside well-known industry figures Quim Silva and David Harwood.
In 1995, Rodney and Catherine opened CoolCar Hamilton, reviving the CoolCar brand in the Waikato. The business quickly outgrew its original Te Rapa premises and moved to 399 Te Rapa Road, where it remains today. In 2018, Rodney and Catherine purchased CoolCar North Shore from David Harwood. They then expanded again in 2020, acquiring CoolCar Henderson from Rodney’s former colleague, Quim Silva.

QUOTATION
Having diagnosed the issue, our technicians will prepare a quote for the full extent of the repairs, and outline your options and the repairs required to get your vehicle back on the road, in plain English.
REPAIR
Once you've approved the work, we'll complete the repair using quality parts from trusted suppliers. All repairs are tested before returning to you and come with a 12-month warranty to assure you of the quality of our work.
RAY FOURIE || BRANCH MANAGER OF COOLCAR HAMILTON
Ray leads our CoolCar Hamilton workshop and has worked in multiple branches of CoolCar managing our workshops for almost 4 years.
He's got 20 years experience in automotive electrical work, and a vast wealth of knowledge on automotive air-conditioning repairs and ran a Bosch-certified workshop for six years prior to moving to New Zealand. Ray trained with Bosch and has an AA Trade Certificate in Auto Electrical Repairs. Ray's always eager to sink his teeth into difficult diagnoses, and commited to proving high quality explanations and service to his customers.
LOAN CARS AVAILABLE
We understand that life does not stop when your vehicle needs repairs or diagnostics. CoolCar Hamilton has a fleet of courtesy vehicles available, so can carry on with your life while your vehicle is with us. Our courtesy cars are well maintained and intended to make things easier. Need to collect the children, take the dog somewhere, or just pop down the road to go shopping. That is absolutely fine.
Courtesy vehicles are provided free of charge. We do not put fuel in the vehicles, and we do not expect them to be returned full. If you notice the fuel level is getting too low for your use, put in enough petrol for the travel you expect to do.
During the Summer months, courtesy cars are often reserved for cars having repairs performed, not evaluations.

CoolCar Hamilton see's hundreds of vehicles pass through our workshop each year. Despite our premises being big enough to house all manner of trucks, tractors and machinery at one time, we understand that when a truck, tractor, excavator or piece of plant loses air-conditioning, heating or demisting, getting it to a workshop is often just not feasible.
CoolCar Hamilton brings specialist air-conditioning, heating and auto electrical diagnostic equipment to your depot, farm or worksite to diagnose the actual fault, explain and quote the repair options clearly and repair on-site. We're flexible to your schedule and committed on doing the job right the first time, saving all parties wasted time and inconvenient return trips.
